The blog this week is about performing regular check-ups on your Volvo or Toyota. We know.....it may not
sound like the most interesting of activities for some, however regular checks can ensure that the health of your car is maintained, help to keep you
on the road for longer and can also save you money in the long run. This week we will briefly talk about your Volvo or Toyota Wiper Blades Read below
to find out more.
During the lovely summer that we have just encountered you may have found that there was not much need to use your wiper blades. However now we are moving into Autumn you can guarantee that you will need to use the wiper blades more often. Wiper blades will deteriorate over time – it’s to be expected – the blades are made from rubber and will naturally perish. Run your finger over the rubber strip checking for damage. If you find some then it is time to change them.
Debris or grit may become trapped and result in your actual windscreen getting scratched – more expense to you. If you notice smearing on your windscreen when the wipers are being used this could be an indication that it is time to change them. At the same time it is worth checking your washer bottle is fully topped up and your spray nozzle has not become blocked with minute particles of dust. Just pop a needle in the nozzle to make sure the screen wash can come out properly.
Wiper blades are inexpensive and you can fit them yourself – they are an incredibly important safety feature – don’t neglect them – you need to see where you are going, if there is debris in the road and you need to be able to avoid an accident ahead of you. If you are in any doubt as to how to fit them feel free to pop into your local independent garage for assistance. If you find that the windscreen wipers are not working at all there could be an issue with a fuse, the pivot nut or the motor – it is imperative you get this issue rectified as quickly as possible.
