The blog this week is about avoiding bad driving habits that you may not even be aware that you are doing or realise the damage it is doing to your car. Read below to see one of the bad driving habits we have all probably done at some point in our driving lives:
Brake drag is caused by the brake pads or shoes not releasing completely when the brake pedal is released. If you are experiencing this whilst driving your Volvo or Toyota it is best to take your car to your local independent garage for investigation and repair. Dragging the brakes is a bad driving habit that you should avoid. This is normally done whilst driving downhill (riding your brakes). What you should be doing is driving in a lower gear lightly braking and then releasing the brake pedal, using your gears to slow down. If you ride your brakes all the way downhill it will lead to increased wear and tear on your brake pads and discs. This in turn will mean that you need to replace them more frequently, which will add an unnecessarily-increased outlay to your annual driving cost. It really does pay to drive your car correctly to maximise the life of the parts of your Volvo or Toyota! Happy Driving Folks!
