The blog this week is about taking care of the clutch in your Volvo or Toyota. It is important to check the fluid levels in your clutch reservoir on a regular basis. Whilst you are checking the clutch fluid check the other levels such as oil and water etc – these are things you should be doing on a regular basis. Cars with hydraulic clutches can be checked simply in the following way. Remove the cap and ensure that the fluid level is near the top. If it’s not, simply add more brake fluid – making sure you do not overfill. Make sure the cap is screwed back on tightly afterwards as a loose cap will come off and fluid will leak everywhere pretty quickly!
If you find that you have to keep topping up the clutch fluid then this may indicate that there is a leak – it would be wise to get your car booked in at your local independent Volvo or Toyota Specialist garage such as ACC UK Ltd of Farnborough for further investigation. Sticking your head in the sand and ignoring this issue will not make it go away. You could be risking further damage, an accident or a breakdown – all these things will cost more money which could be avoided when seeking expertise at the first sign of an issue.
