Maintain a steady speed whilst using the highest gear possible. Research shows that the most efficient speed is typically around 45 - 50mph. Driving faster
than this will greatly increase your fuel consumption, therefore costing you more money in fuel. The Department of Transport claim that if you are
driving at 70 mph you could be using up to 9% more fuel than if you were driving at 60 mph and up to 15% more than if you are driving at 50 mph. So
less haste could give you more miles out of a tank of fuel! Happy Motoring!
