One of the things that often gets overlooked or put off is the cambelt change. This is required because the cambelt is at the end of its life, putting this off could result in very expensive consequences – a new or reconditioned engine! Not only is the cost of an engine expensive, the labour to fit it is hefty too! Check your Volvo or Toyota service manual to find out when your car is due to have its cambelt /timing belt replaced. This varies from car to car but is often needed at around 70,000 to 80,000 miles.

A well-maintained Volvo or Toyota will also be more efficient, so you’ll save money on fuel because the fuel consumption will be better. If you find that you need to claim on a warranty, you will normally have to show that you’ve got a complete service record. Any missed services will hamper a claim for sure. So always make sure that you have adhered to the manufacturer’s service schedule which you will find in the handbook and get your service book stamped by your local independent garage.
