Supermarkets run petrol promotions quite frequently. Their own forecourts are usually cheaper for fuel, so when they run these schemes it means you can make some decent savings when you fill up on a tank of fuel.
These offers usually are something like "Spend £50 and get a 5p off/litre voucher". ACC UK have seen past discounts as high as 12p off/litre with a single voucher.
It has also been experienced that if you have a friendly happy chappie on the till they stop your shopping at the qualifying mark so you get a voucher and then run through the second half of your shopping so you get 2 vouchers - fantastic if you have more than one car in your household or you use a lot of petrol! Or alternatively be savvy and keep an eye on the till and do it yourself! Every little helps!
