The blog this week is about what does the Tyre Pressure Warning Light mean, if it comes on, on the dashboard of your Volvo or Toyota? Few people actually take the time to go through their Volvo or Toyota owners’ manual and familiarise themselves with what the various lights on their dashboard mean. They seek assistance only when an issue arises. However many people ignore these lights also, possibly in the hope they may just go away. There can be expensive consequences to ignoring some of these lights along with safety issues. Please don’t ever ignore a warning light!
Not all Volvo’s or Toyota’s have this warning light (also commonly known as the TPMS – Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). If you find that this light comes on, on the dashboard of your Volvo or Toyota, then take your car to your nearest service/petrol station and inflate your tyres to the correct pressure. If you don’t know what your tyre pressures should be then consult your owners handbook. If for some reason you do not have your owners handbook then consult with your local independent Volvo or Toyota garage. Once you have your tyres at the correct pressures you can reset the light. If you continue to drive your Volvo or Toyota with under-inflated tyres you will wear them much quicker and you risk tyre failure prematurely. This costs money unnecessarily. We have written blogs in the past about looking after your tyres – you Volvo or Toyota will drive much better, have better MPG and be much more safer if your tyres are inflated correctly. Happy Motoring!
