The blog this week is about tips on fuel in your Volvo or Toyota. Everyone is trying to save money at the moment, interest rates are rising, fuel bills are rising, food costs are soaring etc so when it comes to owning a car, we need all the help we can get to keep costs down. Did you know that to pass the MOT, your Volvo or Toyota must have a secure fuel cap fitted. You must also have sufficient fuel for the MOT test to be carried out – when they test the emissions, they will need to run your vehicle. If you notice any leaks or think that your fuel cap is not fitting properly, take your car to your local independent Volvo or Toyota Garage such as ACC UK Ltd of Farnborough, Hampshire.
If you think your fuel gauge on your Volvo or Toyota is not working properly take your car to your independent Volvo or Toyota Garage. You may have a fuel leak that needs urgent attention. Running out of fuel can be a costly mistake to make as some breakdown companies may charge you an additional price on top of your annual premium and if you do not have breakdown cover calling a tow truck could cost you hundreds of pounds! Putting the wrong fuel in your Volvo or Toyota will not only cause you to break down but may also cause permanent damage to your vehicle which will be incredibly costly to rectify!
It is not necessary to use a high-octane fuel for an average car – so save your £’s and just use the normal fuel. If you do feel that you want to use a high octane fuel for a non-sport car then just fill up once a month with it.
If your filler cap does not have a label stating whether it is diesel or unleaded stick a green label on for unleaded or a black label for diesel – this is especially important if you lend your car out to other family members or if you have changed vehicle and gone from say a diesel vehicle to a petrol one. A lot of customers who have done this and then had their car towed into us have just said they were literally on automatic pilot at the fuel pump as they had been using a different fuel for years!
