Meet the Team: Simon Cook

Every week we will be doing a getting to know the team blog. We have been in business for 23 years and have had staff come and go over the years but have never done a meet the team blog. This week we are shining the spotlight on Simon Cook. Simon is the owner of ACC UK Ltd and started the business after being disillusioned by the garage he was working at consistently giving poor customer service to its customers. We asked everyone the same questions…..it’s just a bit of fun!

This is from the 2000 British gangster film Sexy Beast. In the film, the intimidating gangster Don Logan (Ben Kingsley) attempts to recruit the retired safecracker Gal (Ray Winstone) for one last heist. The quote is a central line from the film that highlights the conflict between the two characters, as Gal is reluctant to return to his criminal past now he is living in Spain. 

What's the most interesting place you've ever travelled to & why?
Dubai – crazy that only a few short years ago it was all just sand!

What's your go-to karaoke song?
Daydream Believer – recorded by The Monkees with Davy Jones singing lead

What's your favourite way to unwind after a long workday?
With a large glass of Vino Tinto!

If you could switch jobs with anyone for a week, who would it be?
The Prime Minister – things would change!

If our team had a theme song, what would it be?

What's the strangest thing you've ever eaten?
Octopus Tentacles

If you could be any fictional character, who would you be and why? 
Rain Man – so I could go to the casino count cards and win big against the house!

That I could run faster!

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you recently?
Reading Jack’s answers on his meet the team – he is quite the comic!

What's the worst piece of advice you've ever been given? 
Go into the motor trade ☺

If you could be any animal for a day, which would you choose and why?
A Cat or a Sloth
A cat is independent yet curious and has a playful nature. They also sleep for hours!
A sloth is surprisingly a very strong swimmer and can hold their breath for a long time – I bet you didn’t know that!
 
What's your favourite holiday and why?
I love Menorca – its only 2 hours away and I have many memories of great family vacations – it’s the perfect place to chill

What's a fun fact about yourself that people might not know?
I love making stuff out of discarded pallets – who knew!

If you could turn your belly button into a real button, what would it do? 
My button would silence certain individuals ☺

What is your dream car?
VW Camper – if you know, you know!

Best thing about your job?
The people I work with – we really do have a great team here!

If you could add one element to our workspace, what would it be?
More parking spaces!
