2017 Award, are Servicing, Repair & MOT Specialists based in the heart of Farnborough, Hampshire. We like to give you hints and tips on maintaining
your Volvo or Toyota to help reduce breakdowns and expensive car repair bills.

The blog this week is about what you can do to help your Volvo or Toyota to be more green, in other words to ensure that your Volvo or Toyota has less of an impact on our environment. We do our best to recycle etc but can
we do more whilst driving our cars? The answer is yes!

Reducing emissions – you can do this by ensuring that you get your Volvo or Toyota serviced regularly. Make sure that you look after your DPF filter
– there has been much negative press recently. This will ensure that your Volvo or Toyota is more economical to run and help the environment – both
at the same time – a win win situation!

Changing Oil & Air Filters – if you do this regularly, you will ensure that your Volvo or Toyota is running at optimum levels. Having a mini
service inbetween the major service will help to keep your Volvo or Toyota in great condition and reduce the negative impact on the environment of
running a car that is having to work harder because of poor maintenance.

Lighten the Load – we have said in previous blogs, remove items such as golf clubs and roof racks/roof boxes when not in use – this makes your car
more efficient as it is lighter and more aerodynamic so the engine is not working as hard. Saves you money too as the fuel economy is better – another
win win!

Good Tyre Care – again we have said in previous blogs – look after your tyres on your Volvo or Toyota – correctly inflated tyres perform better
– less work for the engine to do, and they also wear more evenly, lasting longer – saving money and the environment.

Look After The A/C System – in previous blogs we have talked about looking after your Volvo or Toyota AC system to prevent it becoming smelly but
bear in mind that when possible cool your car down by opening a window. Looking after the AC system will allow you to see in you have a refrigerant
leak which requires attention.

Driving Style – we have talked in previous blogs about being smoother on the accelerator and brakes – have a read of them as not only will you be
looking after your engine and brakes, you will also be saving fuel – both of these will save your wallet – you will also be looking after the environment.
