Top Tips to Extend the Life of Your Vehicle

With the lack of new cars on the market, the price of second-hand cars skyrocketing and the cost of living going up alarmingly you have never needed to extend the life of your current vehicle more. 1. Read Your Owner's Manual
So many people overlook their owner’s manual – it is packed with information about servicing schedules and what all the buttons and gizmos in the car do.. Refer to this book as often as possible.
2. Change Your Oil Regularly
Don’t wait until the annual service to change your oil. Depending on how many miles you are driving you may need an interim service. At the very least you should be checking your oil levels fortnightly. The oil is the lifeblood of your car – it keeps everything lubricated and reduces friction and engine wear. Changing the engine oil when advised by the manufacturer not only ensures optimum performance and avoids wasting fuel, but also extends the life of mechanical components and prevents costly repairs.
3. Keep the Vehicle Clean – Inside & Out
Keeping your Volvo or Toyota clean inside and outside will help to maintain the re sale value. Keeping it clean on the outside will help you to spot any rust that may be starting and by regularly washing the salt and debris off during the winter will help to avoid corrosion. Keeping seats clean will help keep the car more desirable to a potential buyer.
4. Check Your Tyre Pressures Regularly
We have written many blogs stating the importance of checking your tyres regularly. Under-inflated tyres will make your Volvo or Toyota engine work harder and will increase your fuel consumption. With the price of fuel at an all-time high this is not something you want to do. Under-inflated tyres will also wear out faster and can affect the vehicle's handling.
