of all things cars in the way of our regular weekly blogs. We are often asked by our customers when they should have their Brake fluid replaced and
why should they have their brake fluid replaced. So our blog this week is all about how brake fluid works and why it may need to be changed.

Your brake fluid on your Volvo or Toyota is an incredibly important part of your car. Brake fluid heats up whilst you are braking and works at its optimum
level when it is not so hot that it becomes a vapour, however it needs to reach boiling point. During your regular annual Volvo or Toyota servicing
your brake fluid will be checked – if it is found to be dirty and contaminated you will be advised to have it changed. We recommend that your brake
fluid is changed every two years. Once the vapour bubbles it could result in brake failure. Contamination could come in the form of water – these are
microscopic amounts of water that have been absorbed through pipes and hoses and joints that the brake fluid lubricates that are then reintroduced
back into the brake fluid container. As more and more water is contaminating your brake fluid the temperature that the brake fluid boils at is decreased
resulting in your brakes becoming inefficient or in brake failure completely. Your brake fluid is also a lubricant which also helps to prevent corrosion.
