The blog this week is about the lights on your Volvo and Toyota. When did you last check them? You should be checking them on a weekly basis – it takes
a few minutes. During these winter months our lights are so important – they allow us to be seen by other drivers and pedestrians.
Firstly, check that your indicators are working front and rear and check that your hazard lights are also working. They should flash between 30-90 times
per minute. Checking your brake lights may need the help of another person if you cannot park your Volvo or Toyota by a window to check the reflection.
You can also check your reversing lights this way also. Checking the headlights, tail lights, fog lights, main beam and side lights can be done by
walking around your Volvo or Toyota. If any of these lights are not working then change the bulbs as quickly as possible. You risk a fine if caught
driving with lights that do not work. If you are in any doubt about how to correctly change the bulbs then please take your car to your local independent
garage. Lights that do not work will cause your Volvo or MOT to fail its MOT. If you have changed
your bulbs but your lights are still not working it could be a fuse or electrical issue – consult your Volvo or Toyota owners manual for information
regarding your fuses. If it is an electrical issue it will require further investigation by your independent garage.
