expensive car repair bills.

The blog this week is about why the air coming out of your Air Conditioning Vents in your Volvo or Toyota may smell awful and what action you may need
to take to correct it.

Air conditioning smells bad

If you haven’t used your air conditioning system for a while such as over the winter period you may find it smells awful when you use it again. This could
because you have mildew in the system. It is a very common problem. One way to prevent it from actually happening in the first place is to turn off
the air conditioning a few minutes before you plan to turn off the engine and to switch your car on to the fan system and letting that run. This way
will ensure that you are using recirculated air and fresh air and trying to dry out the internal systems to help prevent the mould and mildew from
growing. They will grow in damp places so circulating some fresh air through the fans will help to keep the area dry. If you find yourself experiencing
these bad smells then you will need to take your Volvo or Toyota to your local Independent Garage. There, they will try spraying a disinfectant through
the fresh air intakes along with using a foaming system cleaner to try and remove the mould and mildew that is growing internally. They may even change
the cabin filters, which can become blocked with mould, mildew and pollen over time. Obviously the cost of these can be avoided if you switch your
air conditioning off and run the manual fans before the end of your journey. Happy Motoring Folks!
