So, what have we been up to during the year? We won the Motor Trader Independent Garage of the Year 2025! Very happy with that – especially as we were up against some very stiff competition up and down the country! Our trophy cabinet is truly bulging!
We have been enjoying using the mezzanine floor and having the extra ramps as we have had a lot of big engine rebuild jobs throughout the year as people are preferring to hold onto their vehicles rather than buying new. This is probably due to the hike in the price of new and second-hand vehicles coupled with the interest rate increases. We have also been kept very busy fitting new tyres and doing lots of wheel alignments. Ensuring your wheels are aligned will help increase the longevity of your tyres! We have also started seeing a lot of cars with wet belt issues and a lot of EV’s coming through the workshop. We hope you enjoy reading our weekly tip blogs on the website – all aimed at helping to save you money on your motoring costs.
This year Andy Reaney joined us. He is a Volvo Master Technician and comes on board with a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience. Between him, Simon and Terry they have over 100 years of combined knowledge! Your car really is in the right hands!
Terry continues to be Terry, solid and dependable, imparting his knowledge on the younger clan!
Andre our apprentice is continuing to grow in experience and is doing well in his final year. He has been joined by Hayden our 2nd year apprentice, so we look forward to seeing his development over the next year.
Andy and David, our drivers are super busy and a lot of you may already have met them. We also have a couple of new loan cars added to our fleet. We have found that since Covid and the MOT extension that was given out that there are certain months of the year where we are very busy literally doing double the amount of MOT’s – we cannot stress enough how important it is to get booked in – this is the same for any garage out there.
Jordan, who joined us 2 years ago is continuing to grow in experience. Soaking up the skills and knowledge from Terry, Andy and Simon. Sometimes the old skool methods are the way forward!
Jack who is our car valeter is still enjoying his running and is ultra-competitive with Simon! Keeps them both honest we think!
Fraser, who many of you speak to on the phone is still running around like a headless chicken, keeping everyone busy!
In April Simon ran the Boston and London Marathons in the same week 3000 miles apart! Super impressive. But what was phenomenal was that he raised over £17,000 for two very worthy charities – thank you for your kind donations and generosity! Much appreciated! He even became a Guinness World record holder along with everyone who completed the London Marathon! He has his beady eye on The Cape Town Marathon in May next year for his 8th Star – does this man ever rest?
All that remains for us to say is “Have a fantastic Christmas Holiday and New Year”. May 2026 be everything you want it to be! See you all next year! Stay Safe Folks!
Simon, Fraser, Terry, Jordan, Andy, Andre, Hayden, Jack, Andy & David
