ACC UK Ltd Delighted To Sponsor The Community Champion Award

The blog this week is about a fantastic local charity Spotlight UK. We were approached to see if we would sponsor an award at their up coming awards. Spotlight UK is a charity and will be celebrating its 12th birthday in April and to celebrate they are looking to put together an awards ceremony online to celebrate young people across Hampshire and Berkshire who have gone above and beyond.

Many children may not be academic but excel in other ways and they want to celebrate these achievements. They will be appealing for nominations from members of the public as well as teachers and other professionals, for their awards.

By having company sponsorship they can purchase a special treat/experience like horse riding/junior diving experience or similar. Their aim is to be able to purchase special experiences as many of the winners will come from difficult backgrounds and they want to be able to create new positive ones. They say “We cannot take away their past but we can help create new positive memories.” Read on to find out more about this fantastic local charity:

Spotlight UK started in April 2009. We started out to provide low cost activities to help increase confidence and self esteem to children and young people across Basingstoke. However this vision quickly grew and we were able to provide emotional and practical support as well as enjoyable and fun activities to hundreds of children and young people across the area every year.

Year by year we have grown our support and now work across Basingstoke & Deane, West Berkshire, Reading, Hart and Rushmoor, and soon in Salford and across London.

We believe every individual should have an equal chance in life, no matter their ability, race, religion, family status or financial background. We believe every child should be given the opportunity to develop their confidence, self esteem and social interaction to be able to reach their full potential in life. We believe everybody should have access to fun activities and emotional support despite financial restraints and believe every child has a potential but may need help to flourish and every child and young person should have people who care, love and support them through life’s challenges and help to improve their mental wellbeing.

As well as providing inclusive activities for all children including after school clubs, holiday clubs, youth clubs, performing arts activities, arts & craft, sports, outdoor activities and trips, we provide 1-2-1 emotional and practical support.
